has joined an elite group of independent paint dealers in Ontario
to become members of The Coatings Alliance, a young North American
paint company that is the first and only cooperative in the coatings
industry meaning they are not just members, but also company owners.
This allows them to have input into the creation and direction
of the product line—the luxury paint C2 Collections of Color
With the C2 brand, they have created a high quality paint
manufactured using more pigments and resins than any other paint
made in North America . Its unique formulation not only gives
the color palette added complexity, but it allows for easier application,
even coverage, durability and UV- and fade-resistance.
”There were many reasons this new business alliance was appealing to Bergsma’s
Home Décor,” explains Jeff Bergsma. “First, with The Coatings Alliance,
we found a group of independent businesspeople who shared our goal to be on the
leading edge of the industry, constantly searching for the best possible products,
colors and technology. Second, the C2 luxury paint really is an exciting new
product that we wanted to be able to bring to our customers in Milton and the
western GTA.”
Like the other members of The Coatings Alliance, Jeff Bergsma
has found that daily customer interaction is his biggest real advantage
over more anonymous big box competition. “We are on
the floor talking to our customers every day,“ Jeff explains. “We
hear their questions, concerns and ideas and now we have the ability
to translate those thoughts into a better product.”
 In fact, C2’s signature color tool is a direct result of customer feedback. After
years of hearing customers complain about paint chips that were too small or
that didn’t match the color they put on their walls, The Coatings Alliance
created The Ultimate Paint Chip, an 18 by 24 inch sheet covered in actual paint,
not the ink simulations used by other companies. “Customers love
the Chips,” Bergsma declares. “Not only can they better visualize
the color but they can also test it from wall-to-wall or room-to-room in seconds
without the mess or hassle.” At 2 3/4” x 4”, even C2’s
pocket version paint chip is larger than the industry standard.
 Color is where C2 has truly made its mark. While C2 is formulated for
superior durability and easy application, it’s the color palette where
C2 premium paint really shines. “The complexity of C2’s colors
is remarkable,” remarks Bergsma. “This line perfectly complements
our other premium brands and has direct appeal to designers, master painters
and the very fussy.” C2 is the only North American-manufactured
paint to use a 16-pigment European tinting system, which not only makes the
colors more complex, but also gives the paint more durability, hiding ability
and fade-resistance. |
